AURORA Study — Recruitment website for a global clinical trial (Lupus Nephritis).
Client
Aurinia Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: AUPH) is a biopharmaceutical company developing therapies for rare diseases.
Project (Delvona client work)
Aurinia hired me to design and deliver a recruitment site for the AURORA Lupus Nephritis clinical trial conducted worldwide. The site needed to be compliant, fast, reliable, and easy for prospective participants to self-screen and reach the study team.
What I built (React + Next.js)
Static-first delivery for reliability
- Implemented the site as a Next.js static build for:
- Excellent performance globally
- Minimal operational surface area
- High uptime (no application server required for page delivery)
Interactive pre-qualification flow
- Built an interactive eligibility “self-check” experience that:
- Lets users select relevant criteria
- Guides them to the next step when sufficient information is collected
- Presents a contact form with clear consent language and submission confirmation
Modal-driven education + contact
- Implemented modal-based UX patterns to surface:
- Condition information
- Trial details
- Contact + follow-up entry points
without forcing users to navigate away from the recruiting path.
Result
The AURORA study achieved record-setting recruitment velocity, and the recruiting website played a meaningful role in reaching qualified candidates efficiently.
